Proper Riding Attire

Riding gears are your protection.
Always wear long-sleeved shirt or jacket and long pants.

Always minimize the exposure of bare skin when riding. Doing so will reduce skin injuries in the event of a crash or fall. Also, the unpleasant effects of hot weathers like sunburn and fatigue are greatly reduced.

Choose the right apparel for hot or cold weather, rainy season and night riding. Doing so makes riding a lot safer and a highly-enjoyable experience.

RAINY DAY WEAR

Rain Wear
Attire of waterproof material property is priority. Choose one that does not get wet easily by checking the seams and seals. Visibility is usually poor on rainy days - so choose a color that easily stands out.

Gloves and boots cover
Fingers and toes may become numb after prolonged exposure in the cold and rain. It becomes more difficult for cold hands and feet to perform riding operations efficiently. Gloves and boots cover with high waterproof property are necessities. Choose the ones with heat-retaining qualities that do not hamper operations.

Gloves
A pair that is made of leather is best for grip quality. Choose one that does not restrict hand movement. Consider permeability during hot months; and waterproof quality for the wet months.

Helmet
Use helmets with safety ratings. Choose one that is not too loose or too tight. It must snug neatly to the jaw. Moreover, always check for scratches or hairline cracks on the shield as this diffuses reflection and hinder visibility. Refrain from using dark-colored shield at night.

Pants
Long jeans and leather trousers made with durable tailoring are ideal. Short pants and skirts are totally unsafe.

Shoes
Choose the pair that hides the ankle. It is also advisable to use the ones with padding in the ankle and areas of the gear shift / brake pedals.

Jacket
When choosing a long-sleeved top, ensure that:
* It does not hinder handle bar control.
* Its color stands-out and is visible to other drivers and road users.
* It has high protective qualities.
* It has high permeability for protection against cold and hot weather conditions.
* It has protective pad in critical points such as shoulders and elbows.
* It has reflectors for visibility at night.
