Correct Riding Posture

Assuming the correct riding posture is the first important step to a safe and comfortable ride.
-->

Doing so enables the rider to do following:

1. Handle the motorcycle more efficiently;
2. Gather road and traffic information accurately;
3. Reduce fatigue even after a long trip.

* Shoulder - must be relaxed.
* Eyes - Look as wide and far ahead as possible.
* Waist - Sit close to the tank.
* Hand - Hold handle bar gently with wrist forming 120 degrees.
* Arm - Relaxed with elbows slightly bent.
* Feet - Must point straight ahead.
* Knee - Must grip the tank. Legs must not be far apart.

Riding posture may vary according to motorcycle characteristics by shape or structure.

BUSINESS
Set the upper body straight in a relaxed manner. Close both knees. Plant feet on the step while pointing straight ahead.

AMERICAN
Due to the forward step positionm high handle bar, and low seat height - waist position must be adjusted forward/ backward to keep the elbows slightly bent.

OFF ROAD
Because the handle bar rotates widely, waist must be positioned where steering movement is not hampered.

Motorcycle characteristics are sometimes adjudged according to wheelbase length [distance between centers of the front and rear tires], amount of trail, caster angle, etc. For example, a large wheelbase gives a stable straight line movement; while a smaller one makes the motorcycle more agile. Moreover, characteristics also change according to the shape of the handle bar, tire size and engine type.

When changing motorcycles, run in moderate speed until you get used to the character of the new bike. Always check brakes, tires, engine, lights and fuel before moving off.
